You know those times when you just can’t squeeze anymore into your life?

I’m in one of those times. It feels like all I do is make and pack lunches worthy of a 12 hour shift and run errands. This is not a complaint but a statement of fact.

I’m in one of those seasons.

My wonderful husband started a new shift at work a couple of weeks ago. It’s a shift that he is blessed to have in some ways but it kicks him in the teeth in other ways.

Not enough sleep.

Not enough fulfillment in the work.

Not enough time with his family.

I do my best to make up the difference but it’s a losing battle. I will never be able to sleep for him, make any changes at his job, or be him for us.

Regardless, trying to make his few hours at home pleasant and stress free takes a lot of time, so I haven’t been writing as much. But I do have something for you this week.

It’s still writing. I mean… It’s words. Words and pictures.

Okay. It’s just three random quotes that I like set to images that caught my eye.

I’ve made them for you, my loyal readers, but please, if you like them, do share them in your social media lives. They will go up on the UpGradual FB page next week, but I would be so flattered to see them posted by you before that.

Speaking of next week, the idea of choosing our ruts carefully will be the topic of my next post. Maybe.

In the meantime, here are two more quotes, both from one of my favourite books that I just finished reading to our ten year-old. Now it’s his favourite, too.

-A mind, like a home, is furnished by its owner, so if one's life is cold and bare he can blame none but himself. You have a chance to select from some pretty elegant furnishings- (1)

What men call a hero is merely a man who is seen doing what a brave man does as a matter of course. (1)

I write stories from my own journey to inspire you in yours. It's more than okay to be authentic and real as you grown in faith and I want you to know you're not alone.
